September 30, 2017 WIMAPS Report
by Scott Malawski
Our most recent meeting, hosted by members Dave and Dione, was held on Saturday, September30, at their home in Milwaukee, WI.
According to Dave and Dione, their bungalow was built in 1922 and was the first home built on their street in the historic bungalow district. The Milwaukee Journal stated their home is the most automated house in Wisconsin. In their beautiful home, they display the history of sound from yesterday to today.
Vice President Rob discussed the success of the Grays Lake Antiques show with how sales were good and John Hauger’s 1904 World’s Fair Presentation was well attended. Members were encouraged to participate selling next year as tables are free members of APS and/or our club.
After the meeting was adjourned, Dave and Dione gave members a tour of their home as well as a brief history of their home. Since the weather was a perfect near 70-degree day, they did a guided tour of each home and bungalow on their block with some background information, historical information, as well as who originally lived in some of the homes. Members really appreciated the tour, which lasted about 30 minutes.
After the meeting concluded, we all went to the Harley Davidson Museum restaurant for a great meal and conversation while live blues was playing in the background.
What a great day it was!
