WIMAPS SOCIETY REPORT
February 17, 2018
Our most recent meeting, hosted by members Richard and President Margaret, was held on Saturday, February 17, at their home in Park Ridge, IL. According to Margaret, their home was built just after WWII and was originally just a four-room home at the time. The day began with members enjoying their home and eating a variety of great snacks. Shortly thereafter, President Margaret called the meeting to order.
The first old business topic reported was the installation of new officers. Todd Harting was the only new officer and now holds the office of vice president. Vice President Todd said he and his wife Marline would like to hold the summer meeting at their home in Mokena, IL, possibly in July with details and date forthcoming. Rob informed meeting attendees about the 1st Brigade Band meeting at the Octagon House in Watertown, WI on August 5 and how great the concert is and that they use original Civil War instruments. The club is also working with the Mills Music Library in Madison, WI to see if a meeting will be feasible some time later this year.
President Margaret noted that all the Badger Talking Machine newsletters have now been uploaded to the club’s members only website. A tribute was also paid to club members Connie Wolf, Harry Carmel and George O’Connell.
No new business was discussed. The meeting adjourned, followed by show and tell with some interesting paper memorabilia and records presented.
What a great day it was!
